Join us in welcoming Yessica Rivera Belsham to our Creativity Studios. 

A multidisciplinary artist and founder of Ollin (@ollin.ca), Yessica weaves painting, mixed media, textile arts, sculpture, drumming, singing, movement, and storytelling. At the Tett Centre, she is developing original music and visual works exploring memory, identity, and story. Also a Registered Practical Nurse and Community Care Manager at the Kingston Native Centre and Language Nest, she brings care into her creative practice. Her art doesn’t end at the studio door. It lives in the connections people carry at heart.

Tett Centre for Creativity & Learning is seeking engaged, community-minded individuals to join its Board of Directors. As a volunteer governance board, the strength of the Tett Board comes from the diverse skils, perspectives, and lived experiences of its members. At this time, we are especially interested in candidates with expertise in accounting and finance, human resources, and business to help strengthen the Board’s capacity in these areas.

Children can create their own poppy sculptures and/or sketch a little field of poppies, experimenting with shapes, colours, and different ways to bring these vibrant flowers to life. Whether they choose to sculpt, draw, or do a bit of both, it’s a lovely opportunity to get creative and make something uniquely theirs!

Design Your Own Temporary Tattoos

Join graphic designer and tattooist Ro Grant, for a hands-on workshop exploring the art of tattoo design! Participants will learn how to develop their own tattoo-inspired designs, drawing inspiration from personal interests, symbols, and imagery. Each participant will create 2–3 original designs and bring them to life by printing them onto temporary tattoo paper. Take home your unique creations and wear your art.

Escape to the Safe Zone [Exhibition]

Escape to the Safe Zone critically investigates the intricate interplay between natural and sociocultural systems via animal/human relationships. Leisa Rich integrates traditional, reclaimed textiles and historical fibre processes with the advanced technologies of 3D printing, laser cutting/engraving and AI. Safe Zone is a conceptual sanctuary amid pervasive environmental and societal precarity, compelling viewers to transcend passive spectatorship and actively interrogate notions of protection, vulnerability, and interdependence.
