Katarokwi Indigenous Art and Food Market returns Sundays in Springer Market Square

Indigenous vendor market runs each Sunday, June 4 to September 24

(Kingston, Ontario, Canada) – June is National Indigenous History Month in Canada and also marks the return of the Katarokwi Indigenous Art and Food Market in Kingston beginning this Sunday, June 4 and running weekly, 10 am to 3 pm, until September 24 in Springer Market Square. The market is the only of its kind in Ontario. 

 

Katarokwi Indigenous Art and Food Market includes 14 Indigenous artisan and food vendors primarily from the South Eastern Ontario region:

  • Sew Creative by Jen

  • Flint and Maple Beadwork

  • Indigenous revelations

  • L and B Native Crafts

  • 4 Crazy Crows

  • Miigwans Creations

  • Nish Bish Designs

  • Turtle Island Snacks and Fine Foods

The market also features live performances each week from 12-1 pm. Sunday June 4 will feature Shimmering Waters, traditional big drum, and Kathryn Allen, traditional dancer. A listing of all performances for the season is available on visitkingston.ca/katarokwi.

 

The Katarokwi Indigenous Art and Food Market is coordinated by RIEL Cultural Consulting with support from Tourism Kingston and the City of Kingston.
