On October 17th 2026 during Homecoming 100 at Queen's University, CFRC welcomed special guests to the station for a special ribbon cutting ceremony. Following the success of our 2025 Funding Drive, CFRC unveiled the new studio station donors helped build. In attendance was Dr. Cheryl 'Susie' McWatters who has been the station's lead donor for several years. The studio, formerly known as CR3 is now officially named 'Susie's Studio.'
At the event, station volunteers and staff met with station donors, toured the station, listened to some of Dr. McWatters's lovely stories about her longstanding connection to CFRC when she herself was a Queen's student, and everyone enjoyed some refreshments just before the big Homecoming Game at Richardson Stadium.
CFRC is forever grateful to Dr. McWatters and the many donors who helped us replace all of our equipment and furniture in our smallest studio ensuring students and community members who use this space to record radio programs and podcasts have modern equipment in an accessible space.
What does it look like now? FANTASTIC!
