The Kingston Symphony invites you to Feel the Music with its 2025-2026 concert season

July 10, 2025

The Kingston Symphony is excited to announce its 2025-2026 concert season. This season's lineup is simply outstanding and there are so many opportunities for you to be captivated by the experience of live music in the hands of a first-class orchestra bolstered by virtuoso soloists.

Our best lineup ever kicks off with our season debut on Sunday, September 28, 2025. What a season of music we have planned for you! After a 2024-2025 season of bold and daring offerings, we somehow upped the ante for our upcoming season: classical masterpieces like Bruckner's majestic Fourth Symphony, Handel's beloved Messiah, Mahler's gargantuan Symphony No. 5, and compositions by Bach, Brahms, and Beethoven solidify what is a classical music lover's dream Masterworks Series. We'll be fortunate to be joined by some incredible guest talent. Hear the euphonious voices of Jacqueline Woodley, Adanya Dunn, Scott Rumble, David John Pike, The Isabel Voices, and the Kingston Choral Society, or marvel at the virtuosity of Andrew Wan on violin and Anna Sagalova on piano.

What about our Pops Series? See the hit CBC show Murdoch Mysteries live in concert! This exclusive event, blending television drama and live orchestral performance, explores how music for the beloved series is brought to life by award-winning composer Robert Carli. We'll be performing a live score as the episode "Murder in F Major" plays on the big screen! Love Star Wars? We REALLY dig into the Star Wars universe with our Music of Star Wars concert: John Williams' incredible scores for the nine canon films, The Mandalorian, Rogue One, and more. We also take a tour of Paris with songstress Jill Barber in Under Paris Skies, featuring the best of French chansons by Edith Piaf, Jacques Brel, Charles Trenet, and others. C'est magnifique!

For family fun in our Family Series, Al Simmons, the riotously funny children's entertainer, returns in Something's Fishy to bowl us over with his unique brand of high jinks. We also bring Mordecai Richler's Jacob Two-Two to life in Jacob Two-Two Meets the Hooded Fang, with music by award-winning Canadian composer Dean Burry and text adapted by the author’s son Jacob Richler - none other than Jacob Two-Two himself! Did we mention that everyone's holiday favourite, Candlelight Christmas, is also back for three joyous performances in December?

Kingston Symphony Music Director Evan Mitchell is pumped for the season to commence: "I think, and I know I say this every year, this is our best season yet. I am confident in saying that because we work so hard to continually better ourselves for you. We do this for you, our great supporters. We couldn't be happier that you continue to come to our concerts and share in this unbelievable music, this wonderful art. What a season we have in store - can't wait to see you all again!"
