Tech Tutor program returns to KFPL, bringing digital skills to the forefront

September 19, 2023

Take the reins of technology confidently through Kingston Frontenac Public Library's (KFPL) innovative
Tech Tutor Program. After a pandemic-induced hiatus, the program is back and ready to equip
community members with the digital skills needed to conquer the modern world.
The Tech Tutor program supports those facing digital dilemmas, such as using library digital resources
like OverDrive or hoopla Digital, getting started with Office software, understanding a new personal
mobile device like a phone or e-reader or learning computer and internet basics. Seniors and adults can
expect patient guidance as they embark on their digital learning journey.
"Technology opens doors, and our Tech Tutor Program is here to ensure everyone can walk through
confidently,” said Jake Miller, Librarian, Adult Programming.
Starting in late September, Tech Tutors will be available for one-on-one appointments at the Calvin
Park, Central, Isabel Turner and Rideau Heights Branches. KFPL is also looking into introducing
technology-focused workshops, reinforcing the library’s role as a hub for learning.
