PumpHouse Museum to Open a New Exhibition!
September 19, 2023
The PumpHouse Museum is pleased to open “The Stuff Stories Are Made Of” an exhibition showcasing an impressive range of over 200 objects from the City of Kingston Civic Collection, many of which have never been on display. This exhibition is a feast for the eyes, featuring objects from the MacLachlan Woodworking Museum, PumpHouse, Civic, Art and Archaeology collections. The artifacts will be on display at the PumpHouse Museum from Sept. 19, 2023 to May 25, 2024. For more information on the exhibition and admission, visit www.KingstonPumpHouse.
“Heritage Services staff have broken the rules and have given everyday historic objects VIP treatment alongside works of fine art,” says Melissa Cruise, Acting Supervisor, Heritage Services. “This exhibit brings together a wide array of objects from across the Civic Collection, including an impressive range of materials, sizes, mediums and uses that will juxtapose one another.”
“The Stuff Stories Are Made Of” intends to showcase the breadth of the entire Civic Collection in a visually appealing and thought-provoking manner. From butter molds to swizzle sticks, to finger planes, and A.Y. Jackson sketches, this exhibition has something for everyone!
The PumpHouse Museum is open Tuesday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information on the PumpHouse Museum, including tour booking, visit www.KingstonPumpHouse.ca
