After a decade without a team at this level, semi-professional soccer has returned to Kingston. This spring, the Kingston Sentinels launched both men’s and women’s teams in the Ontario Premier League, creating a new pathway for local players who previously had to leave the city to continue competing at a high level.

In this feature, players and leadership reflect on what the club’s early days already mean for Kingston soccer, from packed home openers and growing community support to ambitions of promotion and long-term hopes for a stadium and eventually a Canadian Premier League team.

Listen to the story here, featuring interviews with players Jacob Ball, Ian Ferguson, Marra Stannistreet, Nicole Doncaster, and Victory Grounds Ventures CEO Paul Barbeau.
