Last weekend, the Kingston Walk to End ALS raised more than double its original fundraising goal with a record-breaking $117,752 at its walk last weekend on Saturday June 7.

The ALS Canada Walk to End ALS is the largest annual community fundraiser supporting ALS research, advocacy, and care, in honour of those lost to the disease and in support of those currently living with it.

The original fundraising target for the Kingston chapter was $45,000, but the overwhelming community support far surpassed expectations, setting new records in both funds raised and attendance.

Event organizer Sarah Reedman credited the success to the dedication of returning teams and enthusiasm of newcomers, stating, “Kingston… it’s a very powerful community. It’s a wonderful community and there’s a lot of loyalty, which is lovely to see.”

Funds raised will be split evenly between ALS research and direct support for individuals living with ALS.
