Kingston community organizations have launched See It. Name It. Change It!, a new awareness campaign aimed at helping residents recognize and safely respond to intimate partner violence.
The initiative was developed by a regional working group formed after Council declared intimate partner violence an epidemic in 2023. Participating partners include Kingston Frontenac Anti-Violence Coordinating Committee, Kingston Interval House, Resolve Counselling Services, Kingston Anti-Violence Advisory Council, Southeast Public Health, the City of Kingston and United Way Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox and Addington.
The campaign features portraits of local community members, including an Indigenous elder, artist, musician, paramedic, trades worker, and institutional leaders, holding signs with the campaign’s message. The photos, taken by local photographer Will O’Hare, are appearing across social media and digital displays throughout the city.
More information about the campaign and resources are available at kfacc.org.
