Intersection construction beginning at Gardiners Road and Centennial Drive/Creekford Road

This summer, intersection upgrades will take place at Gardiners Road and Centennial Drive and Creekford Road near Highway 401, with construction starting this week and concluding in spring 2025 with a brief shutdown over winter.  

During construction the intersection will remain open to traffic, however, there will be speed and lane reductions, or lane shifts to facilitate work. Traffic impacts will be shared through the City’s weekly road report. 

“This intersection is a critical access to the City for drivers coming off the 401,” said Tarita Diczki, Project Manager, Transportation Services. “While there may be some impacts during construction the completion of the project will improve traffic flow in the area.”  

This project will bring the intersection up to the standards required by the Ministry of Transportation (MTO) for intersections located near a 400-series highway. Once the upgrade is complete, Centennial Drive from Gardiners Road to Venture Drive will be opened allowing more traffic to commute through the Gardiners Road area.
