In partnership with the Arthur B. McDonald Canadian Astroparticle Physics Research Institute at Queen’s University, Wilfred Buck is being shown at The Screening Room tonight in celebration of National Indigenous People’s Day.
The documentary film tells the life story and shares the knowledge of Wilfred Buck, also known as “the star guy,” Indigenous astronomy expert and educator. Adapted from his memoir “I Have Lived Four Lives”, the film combines archival footage, dramatic re-enactments, and present-day reportage to share Buck’s story.
The premiere of the film at The Screening Room took place on Wednesday, and was followed by a Q&A with director Lisa Jackson.
There will be another on Wednesday, June 26 at 6 p.m. More information is available here.
