United Way Period Promise Effort Seeks Donations

The United Way continues to work with agencies and programs to help the community and individuals who may be in need.

Period Promise: Get Your Donations In!

As March winds down, so does our Period Promise donation drive. Thank you to everyone - workplaces, agencies and community members who have donated so far. There is still time to get your donations in.

How you can help

Drop off donations at the locations listed here.
Monetary donations can also be made online.
Community members can also contact the United Way KFL&A office at 613.542.2674 or at events@unitedwaykfla.ca if none of the above options work and a pickup or drop off can be arranged.

Did you know 1 in 5 people who menstruate are likely to experience period poverty this year?

Nobody should have to choose between feeding their family and being able to afford basic hygiene products. Menstrual hygiene products are among the most requested items at food banks, shelters and agencies, but the least donated. Together, we can help fill this gap!

Your Impact in KFL&A: Moving People from Poverty to Possibility

When it comes to programs and supports for individuals experiencing poverty, the goal of United Way is to reduce the impact of poverty and improve access to shelter and affordable housing.

Thanks to your support last year, 13,903 people were helped by programs and initiatives in meeting their basic needs and moving them out of poverty.

United Way focuses on housing stability, food security and financial stability. This includes programs and agencies focused on transitional housing and bridging the gap for individuals in need of supports. Thanks to Ryandale Transitional Housing for all their amazing work helping individuals learn life skills and get back on their feet. Learn more by watching the video linked above or click here.
