Santa's helpers will collect your letters in downtown Napanee

There is good news if the younger people in your life have been worried about mailing a letter to Santa this year.

Santa Claus was in Greater Napanee on Tuesday, Nov.19, 2024, getting ready for an upcoming panto at Lennox Community Theatre. Kingstonist caught up with him on his lunch break to find out how kids can make sure their letters are delivered to him in time for Christmas. The message is clear: your letter can still jingle all the way to the North Pole, thanks to some super dedicated elves and helpers.

“As you know,” said Claus, “I have a great many elves who spend time doing research for my big naughty and nice list.”

Many of the elves, he explained, can be seen on shelves and various other perches around the homes of families this time of year.

“Last Friday, two of my silliest elves, Stoop and Scoop, reported that they had seen some trouble brewing with the letter delivery system that brings your letters from the Greater Napanee area to the North Pole,” said the man in red.

“Luckily, I knew just who to call,” Claus reported. “As you know, I have very dedicated volunteers who help me spread the magic of Christmas throughout the world. Every year, a group of my helpers collects the letters for me, and this year they are putting a very special North Pole mailbox in downtown Napanee.”

“They are also going to be collecting letters in the Napanee Parade of Lights,” the jolly man relayed, “And, just as they do every year, they will be loading up the letters and sending them to me. The only difference is that one of my reindeer, Cosmos, will be flying south to pick them up.”

The big man enthused, “They are just the nicest helpers who volunteer their time to help kids with their letters every year and this year they said things will be no different, no matter how tough the delivery system is.”

Santa finished his glass of milk and an entire bag of cookies before he headed back to the stage for rehearsal.

Letters to Santa can be dropped off Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Be sure to put them in the very special mailbox pictured above. The address is 124 Centre St. North, Napanee.

“Ho! Ho!” Santa shouted as he went to walk to the theatre but then paused.

“I almost forgot to tell you to address your envelope 'Santa Claus, North Pole, Canada, H0H 0H0' and be sure to include your return address and name so Santa can write back,” he said before he disappeared out of sight.

Santa's helpers will also be collecting letters to Santa along the route of The Greater Napanee Parade of Lights on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2024. Start time 5:30 pm. Santa's Helpers will collect letters at the Nighttime Santa Parade in Kingston, as well. That parade begins at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2024, in downtown Kingston.

And you can catch Santa and his pals as they perform live in Santa Claus, The Panto from Friday, Nov. 22, until Saturday, Dec. 7, 2024, at Lennox Community Theatre, 2219 County Rd 11 Selby, in Greater Napanee.
