A group of medical students at Queen’s are organizing action aimed at addressing housing and homelessness in Kingston.

While the event is called the Queen’s Medicine Municipal Day of Action, this group of students have been hard at work in the community for weeks speaking with local service providers and experts, and are now meeting with city councillors to discuss their findings.

The last time this event was held was in 2021, also focused on housing and homelessness. This event is themed as a five-year follow up, as rates of homelessness in Kingston have increased by 133 per cent in that time.

Listen to the full story here, where Queen’s medical students Zarah Rahman and Tim Song sit down with CFRC to share more about the initiative and their two key requests for Council.
