Open Farm Days 2023 launch event at the Frontenac Farmers Market this Friday

Members of the community are invited to attend an exhilarating Open Farm Days 2023 kick-off event at the vibrant Frontenac Farmers Market in Harrowsmith this Friday, September 1.

What: Open Farm Days 2023 launch event: Farmers market, remarks, photo opportunity.
Why: To celebrate farming and local food producers across Frontenac County and Kingston. Fun for the whole family.
Where: Frontenac Farmers Market, Centennial Park, 4500 Centennial Park Rd, Harrowsmith.
When: Friday, September 1, 2023. Remarks and photo opportunity at 4pm. Farmers market 3pm to 7pm.

There will be speeches and a photo opportunity with an official farm-style ribbon-cutting beginning at 4 pm.

Visit more than 30 market vendors, food producers, and artisans at the Frontenac Farmers Market. Bring a blanket or chairs. Relax and enjoy live music from Hickory Switch. Be sure to drop by and enjoy a craft beer, dinner, or a snack from some of the local food and beverage vendors.

Open Farm Days 2023 runs from September 1 to October 15, 2023 at locations across Frontenac County and Kingston. It highlights the importance of agriculture and celebrates farming and food producers in our region.

Many locations across Frontenac County and Kingston will welcome visitors during Open Farm Days to explore local agribusinesses for a behind-the-scenes look. Each location offers unique experiences such as field tours, beekeeping, introduction to growing fruits and vegetables, education sessions, coffee-roasting demonstrations, hops harvesting, flower picking, plowing match, culinary tours, tasting, and more.
