Longstanding Kingston arts organization Modern Fuel unveils new identity as Cultivate Art Commons

A long-standing Kingston arts organization is entering a new chapter with a new name and renewed vision.

Formerly known as Modern Fuel Artist-Run Centre, the organization has rebranded as Cultivate Art Commons as it approaches its 50th anniversary next year.

Cultivate Art Commons is a non-profit dedicated to supporting contemporary artists in Kingston, providing exhibitions, mentorship, workshops, access to resources, and more. The organization traces its roots back to 1977, when it was incorporated as the Kingston Artists’ Association, before being renamed Modern Fuel in 1995.
