Kingston to investigate feasibility of fare-free transit

Council has unanimously approved a motion directing City staff to examine the feasibility of free transit in Kingston.

The motion, brought forward by Councillor Ryan Boehme, responds to longstanding questions from residents about this possibility. 

The review will be conducted for informational purposes as part of the broader Kingston Transit Service Review, and will focus on understanding how fare-free systems operate in other municipalities, as well as the potential implications, costs, and applicability of such a model for Kingston.
