Kingston School of Art says goodbye to home of 31 years due to financial challenges

After 31 years of providing arts programming from their location at the corner of Princess St. and Victoria St., the Kingston School of Art (KSOA) is giving up their space due to financial challenges.

Founded in 1994, KSOA has served as a cornerstone of the local art community, providing accessible classes, supplies, and hosting exhibitions. While the school will no longer be operating out of their longtime location, KSOA will not be closing its doors.

KSOA Board President Christianne Wojcik explained in an interview with CFRC that the school will be embracing a nomadic model, finding creative ways to host classes and events in various locations across the city.

Wojcik also noted that the school is gearing up for belated 30th anniversary celebrations in summer 2025.
