Kingston Rotary Clubs Invite Community to Peace Gathering and Peace Pole Unveiling
July 14, 2026
KINGSTON, ON – July 13, 2026 – The four Rotary clubs of Kingston are proud
to invite the community to a special Peace Gathering to celebrate the
unveiling of Kingston’s first Rotary Peace Pole.
The ceremony will take place on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 12:00
p.m. at Breakwater Park (King St. & Lower University Ave.) and will bring
together community members, local leaders, and Rotarians to recognize
Rotary’s ongoing commitment to building peace both locally and around the
world.
The Peace Pole, bearing the message “May Peace Prevail on Earth” in
multiple languages, serves as a permanent symbol of hope, unity, friendship,
and understanding among all people. As the first Peace Pole to be installed in
Kingston, it marks an important milestone in the city’s commitment to
fostering a more peaceful and inclusive community.
This collaborative project is a joint initiative of the Rotary Club of
Kingston, Rotary Club of Kingston-Frontenac, Rotary Club of Cataraqui-
Kingston, and Rotary Club of Kingston Waterfront, reflecting the shared
commitment of Kingston’s Rotary clubs to service, collaboration, and
peace building.
“The Peace Pole is more than a monument—it is a daily reminder that peace
begins with each of us,” said representatives of the Kingston Rotary clubs.
“We hope it inspires meaningful conversations, kindness, and a collective
commitment to creating a more peaceful community.”
Residents of all ages are warmly invited to attend this free community event
and join Rotarians in celebrating a shared vision of peace.
