Just in time for Autism Acceptance Month this October, Kingston-based writer Julie M Green has released her debut memoir, Motherness.

The book spans over 13 years of Green’s life, tracing her journey as an autistic mother raising an autistic child. Diagnosed nearly ten years after her son, Green reflects on her experiences with masking, misunderstanding, and self-discovery.

Green hopes her story will help others recognize themselves in its pages, and foster greater understanding of autism beyond labels and clichés.
