The H’art Centre is celebrating their 25th Anniversary this weekend with their first opera-inspired show “Happy.”
The H’art Centre provides opportunities for artists with disabilities and those facing barriers in the Kingston area.
“For the last 25 years, H’art has been striving to make art that is relatable, expressions of simple pleasures, and developing deeper connections with the people around them,” said Camille Spencer, director of Happy. “This performance was designed to highlight the many different artistic forms that H’art practices and the talents of the people who’ve attended throughout the years.”
H’art artists will be returning to the stage at the Isabel Bader Centre t 6 P.M. on Saturday, April 20 in their first show since 2018. This one-night only performance of 'Happy', which has been in the works since September of 2023, was produced in collaboration with various local artists and organizations. The show will also mark their first event associated with the Watershed Festival, a musical theatre festival tied to the DAN School of Drama and Music at Queen's University.
