At their last meeting council approved changes to the way financial and crime reports from Kingston Police will be delivered.

Under the new motion, in-person briefings will take place twice a year, and quarterly reports will now include crime statistics by electoral district.

Councillor Gregory Ridge, who introduced the motion, said the adjustment aims to add additional financial accountability and help council see the larger strategic picture on community safety.

All four quarterly reports will continue to be shared through the City Clerk’s office, with semi-annual briefings scheduled for June and December.
