Campus News Reporter

The Campus News Announcer works with CFRC's news team to coordinate coverage of campus news on CFRC 101.9 FM's airwaves. The Campus News Announcer will be reponsibile for:
-monitoring news feeds for breaking campus news, events and interview opportunities at Queen's University
-recording talks, guest lectures, conference proceedings
-attending SGPS and AMS council meetings to record and report upon them
-writing, reading and recording campus news broadcast segments for weekly news programs Today in YGK and Campus Beat
-Assist staff with training new student volunteers in recording studio to voice news segments
-occasional voice work duties for community event announcements for airplay

Sports News Reporter

Love sports? Love talking about sports?
CFRC 101.9 FM Radio Queen's University is seeking a student to contribute sports news and updates to our weekly news programming!
The successful candidate will-
-research and cover weekly news segments related to Gaels sporting updates in addition to local, regional, national and professional sports across the field
-write a short sports news script each week for placement in our weekly news program
-record and edit scripts and furnish them to news team for deployment
-work with news team to update the team on expected sports news content, meet with the team weekly
-occasionally provide studio assistance for live Gaels game broadcasts (training provided)
-occasionally join Football announcer at Richardson Stadium to add colour to Gaels football broadcasting (training provided)
-occasional interviews with players/coaches/spectators

Music Collection Assistant

CFRC's Music Collection Assistant, under the supervision of the Music Coordinator has the following responsibilities:
-logging syndicated programming into data collection system
-maintaining physical vinyl and CD collection on shelves
-onboard new music into physical and digital collection
-locate local music in collection and create a new local music section
-sorting and returning items to the shelves
-cataloguing uncatalogued items
-reviewing CRTC regulations ensuring compliance
-identifying missing and/or damaged artifacts to the Music Coordinator
-continuing development of our new local music section
-previewing digital content for explicit language
-ensuring physical collection is alphabetized and artefacts are returned to proper location
-dusting, label-making

Marketing Assistant

The Marketing and Advertising Assistant works with CFRC 101.9 FM Radio Queen's University's Executive Director and the station's staff and volunteers to coordinate the voicing and production of commercial advertisements, station promotions, station outreach initiatives on campus and in the community, and public service announcements. The successful candidate will be responsible for writing, voicing, recording, and producing promotional elements for broadcast. The successful candidate will also coordinate and work with station volunteers to voice these elements to ensure a diversity of voices in our broadcasting. Further, the Marketing and Advertising Assistant also coordinates and participates in tabling/boothing opportunities at campus and community events and actively seeks and secures opportunities for CFRC's virtual participation in campus and community events. The successful candidate also participates in direct outreach to local businesses to secure gift card/item donations from local businesses as part of our annual funding drive efforts.
