Queen's Theatre Troupe Presents: Life is a Dream
Life is a Dream, presented by Queen's Theatre Troupe, is a play that encompasses the journey to self-discovery.
When society tells you who you are, or that you should know who you are, how do you respond? What happens when you don't fit into society's expectations? What happens when you don't know who you are?
Segismund, who has been imprisoned for the entirety of his life at the request of his father, King Basilius, is brought to the palace and told his true identity as the heir to the throne. Naturally, he doesn't take it very well. The utopia that King Basilius has built for him does not serve Segismund, nor, it turns out, anyone else in the court. Dukes and Ladies rise up and try to find themselves as utopia crumbles around them.
