CFRC Shortwave Sports Broadcasting Camps

Queen's students and members of the Kingston community are invited to join us at CFRC this fall for our Shortwave Sports Broadcasting Camps facilitated by CFRC's Gaels Football Announcer, Jesse Bell. At our camps, you'll learn core skills needed to be a sports broadcaster for radio or podcaster including how to communicate effectively to keep your audiences informed and entertained as you build a confident radio persona and sportscaster voice.
Fall 2023 Sports Broadcasting Camp Dates are:
Friday, October 20th - 5pm - 8pm
Sunday, October 29th - 3pm- 6pm
Friday, November 3rd - 5pm-8pm
Each session will include modules on the following skills:
Preparing for live broadcasts
Teching live broadcasts
Sports Journalism fundamentals
Managing statistics
Writing segments for sports news radio programs and podcasts
The Mechanics of sponsorships
Developing your persona and broadcasting voice
