Public Service Announcements
CFRC 101.9 FM is passionate about relaying relevant local information and announcements to our listening audience.
CFRC offers creative Public Service Announcements for local non-profit organizations and groups seeking to raise awareness about their services and campaigns. Local groups and organizations are invited to submit Public Service Announcements (PSAs) for broadcast to our audience. Please send a prepared 30- to 60-second script to cfrcspoken@ams.queensu.ca. You can also send a press release or listing and have CFRC staff and volunteers craft a script on your behalf. PSAs may be pre-recorded and mixed for broadcast or simply read by volunteer announcers on-air. PSAs air at the discretion of CFRC volunteer programmers: we cannot guarantee the placement or frequency of broadcast for a PSA.
Non-profit, grassroots or free community events may be eligible for a listing in CFRC’s Community Events Calendar, a compendium of upcoming events which airs twice each weekday at 8am and noon. Community Events Calendar listings are limited to providing information that enables listeners to access these events and will not include any form of solicitation or descriptions of the organizer’s other activities.
Eligible announcements include: demonstrations, educational workshops, not-for-profit events, and other community initiatives organized by groups who otherwise don’t have access to mainstream media and whose mandates run similar to CFRC’s.
