Radiophonic Creation Day, June 4
Tune in to CFRC during the wee hours of June 4 for an international simulcast of experimental radio. From 12-8am on Saturday morning, CFRC will be broadcasting as part of Radiophonic Creation Day, a biennal event honouring radio creation on its widest sense : soundscape, radio drama, experimental music and other various sounds. Interview and Report from Charlotte Kudadirgwa on Alternative Frequency
Tune in today (Thursday, May 19th) at 5PM for Alternative Frequency, CFRC’s locally produced, locally based, alternative news program to hear a special interview and report from Charlotte Kudadirgwa.
Ms. Kudadirgwa recently produced a 13 minute radio report titled Welcome to Canada…Now What? which addresses issues of isolation amongst immigrants in Belleville and Canada in general.
Ms. Kudadirgwa is a first generation immigrant who has been living in Canada for the past 9 years. She recently graduated from Loyalist College in Belleville, ON and is preparing to do a masters degree at Columbia University in New York this fall.
Tune in to Alternative Frequency today at 5PM for a special interview about her experiences producing Welcome to Canada…Now What? followed by the report itself.

Singer/Songwriter Greg Ball on CFRC
Join Indie Wake Up Call host Cyndy Gibson on Thursday, May 5 from 8 to 9pm for an in-studio interview and performance from Kingston singer/songwriter Greg Ball. You’ll also hear studio tracks from his new album Excessive Until August, released on Ching Records, the label run by The Tragically Hip’s Paul Langlois. Greg will be having a release party for the album on Saturday, May 7 at 9pm at The Mansion.
